Biography

Ioma Barnes, 82 of Milford, Texas passed away November 8, 2013 in Houston after a hard fought battle with breast cancer. Memorial graveside services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Milford Cemetery.

Ioma was born July 21, 1931 to Joe and Mattie Cockerham of Pluto, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Milford, but had been living in Houston the past months near her daughter, Cristy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Barnes in 1997. Ioma’s greatest joy was helping others. It didn’t matter what the need, she would do whatever she could to help others. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Cristy of Houston and son, Rick and daughter-in-law, Marilyn of Waxahachie, grandson Matthew Barnes and his wife, Erica of Plano and granddaughter Gabrielle and her husband, Brandon Lee of Milford, brother GD and his wife, Dortha Cockerham of Arlington, along with great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
