Irene Tyler

Irene Mary Tyler, 89 of Whitney passed away on March 3, 2012 in Whitney.

Born Irene Mary Clohosey in Queens, New York on July 7, 1922, Irene spent a long portion of her life raising her family in Cranston, Rhode Island. Other places of residence include St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Aspen, Colorado and San Marcos, California. She worked many years in retail, was a loving mother, an avid reader and enjoyed dancing, her dogs and music. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Irene will be remembered for being loving, generous and forgiving.

Irene is survived by daughters, Joanne Petersen of Weston, Florida, Denise Joyner of Whitney, Texas; son, Robert Joyner of Grand Junction, Colorado, and step- son, Gerald Joyner of Westfied, Mass.; son-in-law, Kaj Petersen and daughter-in-law, Connie Joyner; grandchildren, Tricia and Karen Petersen, Ian, Michelle and Clifford Joyner, Brooke Smith; great grandchildren, Lexi and Maya Smith. She also leaves extended family, Mr. and Mrs. Jean and Danny Miller, Ms. Shelia Fairl, Dr. Bobby Harris and Dr. And Mrs. Douglas Harris.

Family is most grateful for the loving care she received at Park Plaza Nursing Home, Lake Whitney Medical Center and Odyssey Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paw Pals, PO Box 1533, Hillsboro, Texas 76645
