Ivy Brockett

Ivy Brockett, 91, of Whitney passed away on March 23, 2010 in Whitney. Ivy was born on May 25, 1918 in Brandon, Texas, the daughter of the late Miles Henry and Alta Beulah Higgins Murphy. She enjoyed needlepoint, quilting and loved being with friends and family. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Brockett; stepdaughter, Ruth Mae Miller, stepson, Harold Brockett; 3 brothers, L. D., Earl and Floyd Murphy and sister, Geneva Shaw. Survivors include brothers, Ralph Murphy and wife, Janatte of Aquilla, M. H. Murphy and wife, Ruth of Bossier City, LA, Gilbert Murphy and wife, Melba of Laguna Park; sisters, Frankie Rose and Ruth Aston both of Whitney; brother-in-law, Frank Shaw of Whitney and daughter-in-law, Jan Brockett of Midland; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
