J. D. Erwin, 77, of Laguna Park passed away April 12, 2012.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 14, 2012 at New Woodbury Cemetery in Woodbury. Viewing will be until 9:00 PM, Friday. April 13, 2012 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

J. D. was born on July 4, 1934 in Woodbury to Joseph Weldon and Marie Katherine (McLean) Erwin. He grew up in the Woodbury and Hillsboro area and served in the Hill County unit of the Nationa Guard. J. D. was a fireman in Hillsboro before working as a machinist for General Dynamics, Chance Vought and Bell Helicopter in his earlier years. For the last 20 years, he has been buying and selling in Flea Markets. His hobbies were fishing in Lake Whitney and doing leather crafts. He was a member of the College Hill Church of Christ in Hillsboro.

Preceding him in death were his parents and 3 grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Donna Hawkins and husband, Johnny of Waco, Carolyn Martin and husband, Ronnie of Whitney, Steve Erwin and wife, Nell of Hillsboro, Belinda Erwin and Greg Stevens of Laguna Park, Scotty Erwin and wife, Tina of Whitney, Jana Tyler of Austin, Lisa Khoury and husband, Jeff of Waco; sister, Carol Owens of Fort Worth; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Charity Of Choice.
