J Thomas

J K Thomas, 90, of Trinidad, TX passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at a nursing home in Malakoff. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, November 5, 2012 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Danny Gilliam officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-12:00 Noon on Monday at Marshalland Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro prior to the service.

J K was born January 2, 1922 in Hillsboro to John and Mandy (Roderick) Thomas. He was raised in Hillsboro and married Evelyn Estelle Humphreys in 1940. For many years, he worked for Tucker Lumber Company and later worked for Cajun Construction before his retirement.

An avid coon hunter and fisherman, he also raised parakeets and loved animals. He was devoted to his family and grandchildren and was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Evelyn on August 3, 1981; son Billy Jack Thomas on June 23, 2009; daughter Mary Davis on March 6, 2012, and great-grandson Rodney Davis on December 20, 2010.

Survivors include three children; Evelyn Davis of Wortham; J. R. Thomas and wife, Carolyn of Centerville; and Paul Thomas; brother, Daniel Thomas and wife Virginia of Hillsboro; sister, Dorothy Hall of Edgewood; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
