J. B. Waits

J. B. Waits, 87, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-Noon on Saturday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

J. B. was born July 9, 1924 in Blum to the late Sidney Clarence and Lillie Mae (Hauk) Waits. On January 19, 1945 he married Lorene Wylie in Whitney and she preceded him in death on October 31, 1992. He later married Lillian Klein on January 5, 1994 in Hillsboro. J. B. enjoyed farming, ranching, and playing dominos. He very much loved raising and working his garden.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Ellis, Wesley, Raymond, and Otis Waits; and a sister, Jewel Ivy.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Waits of Hillsboro; six children, Charlene Glass and husband, Charlie, of Hillsboro, Jimmy Waits and wife, Gail, of Hillsboro, Gary Waits and wife, Betty, of Cleburne, Richard Northern of Gholson, Mike Northern and wife, Nell, of Grandview, and Mary Frazier and husband, Gerald, of Brandon; nephew, David Waits and wife, Sherry, of Alvin; brother, Travis Waits of Hillsboro; 7 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
