Biography

J. W. Williams, 87, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Mr. Williams will lie in state from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

J. W. was born November 26, 1923 in Dallas to the late John Wesley and Ella Mae (House) Williams. On July 3, 1947 he married Evelyn Curbo in Dallas and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2011. The couple lived in Irving for 35 years until moving to Hillsboro 13 years ago. For 37 years, he was a truck driver for Central Freight Lines in Dallas. He was a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Dallas. J. W. enjoyed hunting, traveling, and sports.

Also preceding him in death was a sister, Johnnie Mae Posival.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Faye Lewis and husband, Doug, of Hillsboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
