Jack J.D. Holman, of Mesquite, TX, passed away on Dec. 4th after a long illness. Jack was born on February 18, 1923, in Coryell County, TX, to Bessie & E.B. Holman. He was the second of five sons. E.B.Jr, John, Duaine, and George. He grew up on a farm where he learned the three R's. Rocks, Red ants, and Rattlers. He graduated from Gatesville High School where he dreamed of military service but was rejected for health reasons. In 1952, he took a temporary job with the Dallas Transit System. After 30 years with the DTS, he retired to enjoy the sport of golf and to play domino's with his friends. He was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, local 1338. Jack is survived by three of is four brothers; his wife, Alice; his children, Ruth Langbein, Dale Decker, Jim Holman, Deborah Capps, and Thomas Holman; eight grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
