Jackie Lewis

Jackie A. Lewis, age 92, of Whitney, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Whitney Church of Christ with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Garden of Memory. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors.

Jackie was born October 25, 1918 in Hill County to Andrew Jackson and Dorcas (Eaton) Davis. She was one of fourteen children. Jackie married Richard Ray Lewis on January 9, 1937 in Snyder and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1990. She was a beauty operator and owned her own shop for many years. Jackie was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, brothers and sisters, and daughter, Barbara McClanahan.

Survivors include her children, Jack Lewis of Ft. Worth and Linda Brooks of Whitney; sister, Juanita Hamilton of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, John Lewis, Marilyn Lewis, David McClanahan and Steve McClanahan; great grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Shawna, Elizabeth, Steven Timothy, Jack and Sydney.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Whitney Church of Christ, P. O. Box 621, Whitney, Texas 76692 or the charity of ones choice.
