Jackson Lee Southard, 19, of Whitney, passed away on August 29, 2017 at a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Whitney High School Gymnasium. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park.
Jackson was born on June 23, 1998, in Hillsboro, to Andrew and Sheila (Kirkland) Southard. He grew up in Whitney and graduated from Whitney High School in 2017. While in high school, he worked at Brookshires. But, his true passion was being the sports manager for both the Whitney Wildcats football and basketball teams. He also loved Texas Rangers baseball. His hobbies included watching Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma football and playing Play Station 4 Madden Football. He loved chocolate milk and chicken.
Even though he was very compassionate and tender hearted, as an appointed debater, he would debate just about anything, especially anything having to do with sports. Jackson was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his parents, Andrew and Sheila Southard; brothers, Cooper Southard and Zeke Southard; grandparents, Don and Janet Bridges; grandfather, Jeff Kirkland; grandmother Judy Banks; great-grandmother, Mary Womack; and many friends at Wildcat Nation.
