James Andrew Stone, 85, passed away peacefully at his residence with his wife at his side. Per James' request there will be no memorial service as he wants everyone's memories to be of him before he became ill.

James, a beloved father, spouse, and cousin was born in Houston, Texas to James Luther Stone and Coline Crenna Smith. His parents relocated to Dallas where James attend school graduating from North Dallas High and continuing his education at The University of Texas Austin. Upon earning his Masters in Business Administration and passing the CPA exam James moved to California. James held CPA certificates in California, Hawaii, and Texas. Once in California he spent the next 42 years working in public and private practice.

On June 22, 1991, he married the love of his life Karon LaFrentz. In 2003 James decided it was time to return to a simpler life. He and Karon relocated to Lake Whitney where he continued to practice until 2020 when health issues made him completely retire.

James was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, several aunts, and uncles and cousins.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Karon Stone; his two daughters from a previous marriage, Laura Stone and spouse Jonathan Spanier and Juliet Stone; stepdaughters, Penny Hudgens and spouse Robert, Christine Berry and spouse Steve, Michele Campero, and former son-in-law Arn Campero; seven grandchildren, Rowan Campero, Griffin Campero, Emma Berry, Nicholas Berry and spouse Carole, Christopher Berry, Luke Smith & Charlie Smith. Also left to cherish his memory are Fred & Judith Stone plus many more cousins and long-time friends and their families.
