James Lamkin Beatty

James Lamkin Beatty, born January 31, 1924, in Clay, Louisiana, passed away Monday, September 16, 2021.  James was a pilot in The United States Air Force and served in World War II, The Korean War and The Vietnam War.  He joined the Army Air Corp on Memorial Day in 1942.  James told some amazing stories and was proud to serve his country.

He was a member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in Sachse, Texas.  James loved to play checkers, especially with his grandson.  He resided at Highland Meadows Skilled Nursing Facility where he participated in daily activities, outings, church services and was a member of the resident counsel.   At 97 years of age, he enjoyed life to its fullest.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Inez Beatty, his parents, Fannie and Jim Beatty, and his sisters, Sara Jo Sizemore, and Elizabeth King.  He is survived by his son Larry, wife Del and grandson Travis Beatty.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A private burial will take place in Hillsboro, Texas.
