James Beck, 72, of Fort Worth passed away on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, in Fort Worth. James was born on June 25, 1936, in Cleburne, the son of the late Hillery and Eula Swiney Beck. He grew up in Cleburne and joined the United States Marines for three years and then was a member of the Reserve. On March 14, 1956, he married Lilly Pelham. He worked in long haul trucking for many years before working as a mechanic for Bell Helicopter. He was also preceded in death by a son, Randall Beck in 2006 and infant sister, Ella Marie Beck. Mr. Beck was a member of the First Baptist Church of Forest Hills and the American Legion. He is survived by wife, Lilly Beck; children, Cynthia and Jack Stevens, Timothy and Michelle Beck; Jeff and Denise Beck and Kasandra Coleman. Brothers, Wayne Cannon and David Hadley and sisters, Mary Dowd and Kay McCready; grandchildren, Jennifer, Josh, Amber, Loren, Soundrea, Caleb, Amanda, Sara, Patricia, J.R. and Dustin; and 7 great-grandchildren.
