James Brown

James Robert Brown, 74, of Midlothian passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria with Chaplain Kevin Moore officiating. Visitation will be from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday prior to service time at the cemetery.

Born October 23, 1943 in Fort Worth, he was the son of Robert Thurman and Grace Pauline (Stephens) Brown. A May 1962 graduate of Paschal High School, he went on to attend a year of college at TCU. At that time he worked in the family business, BRECO Construction Equipment Rental, Inc., eventually becoming part owner with his brother, Gary. He retired in 1999 after 40 plus years. On November 8, 1970, James was united in marriage to Rita Baum.

Working was his hobby but traveling around the country taking his daughter to horse shows is what he enjoyed the most. He also loved spending time in the mountains of Colorado with his family skiing and going to Disney World in Florida. He was a member of Carter Park United Methodist Church and the Texas Rental Association.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Brown, of Midlothian; two daughters, Danielle Erbert and husband, Timothy, of Midlothian and Julie Brown of Houston; brother, Gary Brown and wife, Channe, of Fort Worth; sister, Juanita Anderson and husband, Oliver, of Crowley; grandson, Preston Erbert of Midlothian; nephews, Matthew Brown of Azle and Zachary and Nathan Brown, both of Fort Worth and Edward Anderson of Chesapeake, VA; and niece, Kimberly Atkins of Covington.
