James Callaway

James Thomas Callaway, 71, of Whitney, passed away on October 5, 2015, at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Whitney Memorial Park under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors. Rev Eddie Booth will officiate. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m, Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the funeral home.

James was born on June 22, 1944, in Aquilla, to Joe Chesley “Check” and Lorena “Babe” (Wooten) Callaway. He served his country in the National Guard. Hunting, fishing, and gardening were his favorite pastimes. James was a supply manager for Texas Life Insurance Company in Waco for 42 years. He was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church in Whitney.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Don Callaway and a sister Sue Kimbrell.

Survivors include his children, Greg Callaway and wife, Denise, of Whitney, Kevin Callaway and wife, Jessica of Midland and Misty Callaway and husband, Jamie Heffington, of Whitney; grandchildren, Ashley Callaway of Longview, Colton Callaway and wife, Kodi of Dallas, Jessica Fergason, Dillon Callaway, and Emily Callaway, all of Whitney, Tyler Callaway, Logan Callaway and Tinsely Callaway, all of Midland; great-grandson, Layton Rocha of Longview; sisters, JoAnn Terry and husband, Joe Lloyd of Laguna Park, Glenda Psencik and husband, Bob of Cleburne and Rita Kay Hutson and husband, Billy of Granbury; and his loving pet lab, Sally.
