James Cox

On March 23, 2025, James Robert Cox, 80, of Osceola, Texas, passed away. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro, Texas.

James was born in Cleburne, Texas on January 8, 1945, the first born of Nathan and Ella Marie Cox. He moved to Osceola, Texas with his parents and his younger brother Lanny Cox when he was fourteen years old. He loved his family with everything he had. He loved motorcycles, history, old westerns, reading, and woodworking. Woodworking was a love that he learned from his grandfather. He used that love to make many things for his daughters, granddaughters, and great grandchildren that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

He worked at Tension Envelopes as a machine adjuster for thirty-nine years. His daughters Marie and Glenda Cox and granddaughter Krystina Jackson followed in his footsteps and now hold various positions with the same company. His family would say that he was their greatest support and comfort. There is nothing he wouldn't have done for them. Their lives were more enriched with him, and he will be missed greatly.

He is survived by daughters Marie and Glenda Cox, granddaughters Stashia Beck, Krystina Jackson, and Jamie Lanham and their spouses, and great grandchildren Arik and Nathaniel Perry, and Nora Lanham.

He is preceded in death by his parents Nathan and Ella Marie Cox and younger brother Lanny Cox.
