James Wesley Crumpton, 87, of Whitney wne home to be with the Lord on November 2, 2008 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. James was born on Feb. 25, 1921 in Avalon, son of the late Albert and Lillie Harvey Crumpton. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. James worked as a machinist for Dallas Airmotives, Inc., retiring in 1969. On May 25, 1989, he married Doris Ballard in Whitney. He was a member of Fort Graham Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Eler Essie Crumpton and daughter, Joy Crumpton. Survivors include his wife, Doris; 4 children, Sheridian Williamson, Frieda Walker, J.C. Crumpton, Sandra Moates; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
