James Allen “Jim” Finch, 60, of Brandon passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, in Waco with his family by his side. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Brandon-Bynum Cemetery in Brandon with Pastor Edward Sumrall of Bynum Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Page, Mike Padget, Brad Daniels, William Goodman, Monty Smith, and Lynn Smith.

Jim was born April 25, 1952 to the late James Cullen and Myra Dell (McMurry) Finch. He spent most of life living in and around the Brandon/Bynum area of Hill County. He joined the Brandon Baptist Church and was baptized in the faith in June 1962. On November 2, 1974, Jim was united in marriage to Linda Kay Wright at the Line Street United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.

Jim’s early work history was quite varied which gave him the opportunity to hone his mechanical abilities but, for the last twenty-seven years he was employed by the Aquilla Water Supply District and for most of that time as General Manager. It was a profession in which he was passionate about and dedicated to.

Jim volunteered in his community in a number of capacities over the years. He served as a Bynum Council member and on the Board of the Bynum School District. He also served as a Director for the Brandon-Irene Water Supply Corporation and on the Boards of the Brandon-Bynum Cemetery Association, the Brandon Community Center, and the Irene Cemetery Association.

Jim is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Finch of Brandon; son, James Christopher Finch and wife, Rebecca Armstrong Finch, of Brandon; daughter, Karen Lynn Finch of Weatherford; two grandchildren, James Collin Finch and Cameron Luke Finch; sister, Myra "Epsie" Finch Collins and husband, Bob, of Flowery Branch, GA; and a nieces and nephew, Erin Collins and Brandon Collins both of Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brandon-Bynum Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 111, Brandon, TX 76628.
