Mike was born May 14, 1949 in Dallas to John Well and Edith Mae (Chastain) Griffin. He grew up in Dallas and for many years raced car #116 in figure eight racing. A self-employed gravel hauler, Mike won a Rolex in a contest to move a million pounds of gravel in one day during his career working as a trucker.

His passion and love of riding motorcycles was evident in the three Harley’s that he built from the ground up. When he was not tinkering with his motorcycles, Mike enjoyed attending motorcycle rallies. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his children, Paula Mota and husband, Jose, of Red Oak, Jamie Dawn Lucido of Charlotte, NC, Patty Osgatharp of Indiana, and Karen Henley of Rice; two sisters, Beverly Martin and husband, Johnny of Duncanville and Linda Harris of Forney; and his many grandchildren including, Tiffany Villarreal, Shana Hernandez, Brittany Villarreal, Kristopher Villarreal, Marissa Mota, Jacob Mota, and Jose Mota, Jr.
