James Merle "Casey" Kissinger

James (Casey) Merle Kissinger of Aquilla, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Brad Orbin officiating. Burial will be at Whitney Memorial Park following the service. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney.

Casey was born December 26, 1926, in Whitney to Jessie Monroe Kissinger and Eunice Ivy Kissinger, 1926. He graduated from Whitney High School and was then drafted into the United States Army in 1945. Casey served his country in Guam and was headed to invade Japan upon their surrender. Casey was honorably discharged December of 1946.

Throughout his life he played baseball and was remarkably good at the sport. It was during this time he met his wife, Eva Simcik; while playing one of the games and being on third base, he caught her making fun of him, and the rest is history.

Casey and Eva were married June 3, 1949. They had two children together, Ricky Dale Kissinger and Patti Denise Kissinger.

Casey worked for Tesco for 38 years and in that time, he worked many different positions within the company and was loved by all his co-workers. He retired from Tesco in 1986.

Sugar Hill, the place that Casey and Eva retired to, was named by his wife before it was even purchased. It has been a special place for a lot of family and friends over the years. Casey enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing. Over the years, Casey had many horses, cows, and chickens.

Casey was proceeded in death by his parents, Jessie and Eunice; wife, Eva; brothers, John, Dick and Salty; and his sisters, Nita, Pauline and Marie.

Casey is survived by his son, Ricky; Daughter, Patti and husband, JR; grandchildren, Casey Paul, Amber Cain and husband Billy, Melissa McMillan and husband Angelo, Kimberly Janke and husband Kevin and Cody Ferguson,; great grandchildren, Jordan, James, Bo, Lorelai, Kaleb, Jacob, Abby, Conner and Eden.
