James Martin

James was born June 24, 1927 in Ridgeville, Indiana, the son of Paul Wilson and Nella Foust Martin I.He joined the United States Air Force at age eighteen and served as a military advisor in Vietnam. He retired in 1968 as a Tech Sergeant. He married Mildred Upchurch in April of 1969 and they lived in Burleson until moving to Columbia, Tn. in 1971 and owned a Texaco Service Station. He also worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority. They moved to Whitney in 1991. Mildred preceded him in death on October 30, 1995. He also is preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Survivors include his children, Patricia Singleton of Burleson, Billy Joe Gallegos of Defiance, Ohio, Gary Lee Gallegos of Jackson, Tn., Bobby Odell Lile of Summertown, Tn., Maggie Ruth Thompson of Bryan, Tx., Mary Alice Allen of Burleson, Thomas Warren Martin of Nashville, Tn., Paul Wilson Martin II of Atlanta, Ga., and Teresa Kerley of Cookeville, Tn.; seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
