James Stone


Clay Stone, 49 of Whitney passed away on March 25, 2011.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29 at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Clay was born on August 26, 1961 in Mansfield, Texas, the son of Joseph Fred Stone and Judy Ruth (Wilson) Hooks. He married Susan Jennings on October 2, 1990 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was currently employed with Cedar Crest Colony Water Supply Corp. as a water works operator.

Clay was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed doing leatherwork. He loved to read and enjoyed sharing his love of reading with his children and their friends. He was a very caring husband, father and grandfather. Clay was of the Protestant faith and belonged to the American Legion Post #522 Riders of Whitney.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Ruth Graves.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Stone of Whitney; father, J. Fred Stone and wife, Judith of Whitney; mother, Judy Hooks and husband, Ron of Albuquerque, New Mexico; children, Kristopher Stone of Whitney, Damien Stone of Houston, and Korigan Stone of St. Louis, MO; brothers, Jeffrey Stone of Whitney, Ronnie Hooks of Albuquerque, NM and David Hooks of Albuquerque, NM; one grandson, Thayden McCartney of Whitney, and many uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
