Jane Waller

Jane Waller, 92, of Dallas passed away Monday, February 15, 2016, at Juliette Fowler Nursing Facility in Dallas. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Danny Gilliam officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Jane was born to Leonard and Addie (Rogers) Boyd on July 21, 1923 in Hillsboro, where she lived most of her life. After graduating from Hillsboro High School, she was united in marriage to James Taylor Waller on October 5, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1998. When her children were older, Jane entered the work force first being employed in the Hill County Tax Assessor’s office. Later she went to work in the Hillsboro ISD Tax Office, where she served as tax collector, retiring in 1993 after more than 25 years of service.

A very active member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, she enjoyed singing with the Homeward Bound singers. She was an excellent seamstress and made beautiful quilts. She and her friends enjoyed sharing lunches together as long as she was able. Jane was a devoted grandmother and always cherished hearing from her grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers, Dugan Boyd, John L. (Bud) Boyd, and Harry Boyd.

Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Jordan and husband, George, of Dallas and Suzy Dunn and husband, Nathan, of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Jeff Jordan and wife, Shannon, of Dallas, Kelly Webb and husband, Ross, of Heath, Patrick Jordan of Dallas, Jennifer Studdard and husband, Caddo, of Katy, and Angela Sitser and husband, Matt, of Dallas; seven great-grandchildren, Abby, Donovan, Carly, Chase, Zane, Paxton, and Alexandra; and several nieces and nephews.
