Janelle Stanford

Janelle Stanford, 82, of Hillsboro died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at her residence. Janelle was born September 8, 1924 in the Mayfield Community in Hill County, Texas, the daughter of William Hamilton and Lillie Brown Jennings. She grew up in the James Community, spent all of her life in Hill County, and graduated from Hillsboro High School. On June 12, 1942 she married Sonny Stanford. For 32 years she worked for Hillsboro State Bank and Interfirst Bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro where she held various committee responsibilities and sang in the senior adult choir. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Frank Jennings; and sister, Mary McCollough. Survivors include her husband, Sonny Stanford of Hillsboro; children, Keith Stanford and wife, Deborah, of Whitney and Kaye Cheatham and husband, Jimmy, of Taylor; sister, Ruthell Carter and husband, Bud, of Denison; grandchildren, David Stanford of Alta Dena, CA and Susan Stanford of Hillsboro.
