Janet Akridge

Janet Taylor Akridge, of Whitney, passed away at her home on May 27, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors with Dr. Gerald Dudley officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the funeral home.

Janet was born on August 29, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio, to John AlbertTaylor and Marian Elizabeth (Lane) Taylor Fisher. Spending time outdoors, traveling and camping were some of her favorite pastimes. An avid hummingbird enthusiast, she enjoyed feeding her hummingbirds. She worked as a clerk at Wal-Mart for several years as well as convenience stores. As a team with her husband, she also drove a truck for two years. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren unconditionally.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Jason and Joey Taylor.

She is survived by her husband, Buddy Akridge, of Whitney; children, Anthony Taylor and wife, Michelle of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Ronnie Brown, III and wife, Felisha of Subiaco, Arkansas, David Akridge of Florida, Victoria Ecklund and husband, Steven of Rio Vista; brothers, Jeffrey Taylor, Sr., and wife, Brandi of Ocala, Florida, Johnny Taylor and wife, Jean of Merrit Island, Florida, Jerry Taylor and wife, Donna of Mims, Florida; nine grandchildren, Brandi Brown, Daniel Akridge, Garret Brown, Roger Akridge, Kagen Brown, Ronnie Brown, Allana Brown, Turryanna Hankins and Eric Ecklund; and aunt Cindy Whitfield of Pensacola Florida.
