Janet Ann Bridges

Janet Ann Bridges, 71, of Morgan passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020, in Peoria, along with her grandsons, Ezekial Zane Southard and Copper M. J. Southard.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020, on the Whitney High School football field with Scott Pelham officiating.

Janet was born August 11, 1949, in Gladewater to Marion James and Lottie Bell (Johnson) Fox.  As a child, she lived all over Texas while her father worked in the oil industry.  She was a 1968 graduate of Ozona High School.   On September 1, 1979, she was united in marriage to Donald Eugene Bridges and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2020.

In her spare time, Janet enjoyed reading, cheering on the Texas Rangers baseball team, and watching the Game Show channel and Wheel of Fortune.  She loved being the family patriarch and having all the family together on Christmas Eve.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; grandson, Jackson Lee Southard; two brothers, Herman James Fox and Gary Wayne Fox; and sister, Cheryl Kay Cooke.

Survivors include her children, John Southard and wife, Sonja, Andy Southard and wife, Shelia, Matthew Southard and wife, Janelle, and Jason Southard and wife, Jennifer; brother, Michael Fox and wife, Eydie; two sisters, Judy Weatherwax and husband, Harold, and Katherine Jennings; and sixteen grandchildren.
