Janice Bissing

Janice Kay Bissing, age 58 of Whitney died April 23, 2011 in Temple, Texas.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 10:00 AM at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Carall Marr, Rev. Wade Yarbro and Rev. Jim Owen Officiating. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, Texas 4:00 PM Thursday. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 211 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors.

Janice was born in Merkel, on December 22, 1952, the daughter of Clifford and Pearl (Reynolds) Pilgreen. She grew up in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 1971. She was a very loyal Christian, who loved God with all of her heart. Janice enjoyed reading God’s word and being involved in bible study. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and considered her friends her family as well.

On July 23, 2005, Janice married Paul Scott Bissing in Fort Worth, Texas. Janice enjoyed traveling in her RV and camping. She attended Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Whitney and was a member of Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Janice worked for the Walton Group in Fort Worth as an accountant for many years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Pilgreen on April 24, 1992.

Survivors include her husband, Scotty of Whitney; mother, Pearl Pilgreen of Abilene; children Amy Winkler and husband, Ryan of Whitney; April Norris and husband, Brian of Whitney; and Lacey Bissing of Whitney; brothers Barry Pilgreen and wife, Kimberly of Abilene; and Gregg Pilgreen of Washington State; sister, Joy Pipes of Tucson, Arizona; 9 grandchildren: Taylor, Tate, Teagan, Tinsley, Nolan, Nyla, Neeley, Owen and Ridge; and Aunt Myrtle Whisenhunt of Abilene, Texas.
