Jason Thornell

Jason Thornell, 43, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Fred Babb of First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the funeral home.

He was born June 18, 1970, in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Bob and Donna Thornell. Jason grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1988, where he played football, basketball and baseball and was all-district in all three. Following high school, he graduated from Hill College where he played baseball for two years for the Rebels.

Since 2006, Jason worked in the oil and gas business. His favorite past times were fishing and hunting. He was an all-around outdoors man who enjoyed grilling and cooking. He especially enjoyed being with family and friends. Preceding him in death was his mother, Donna in 1999. Jason was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro.

Survivors include his father, Bob Thornell of Hillsboro; two daughters, Audrey and Aryn Thornell both of Plano; mother of his daughters, Melissa Fischer of Plano; three brothers, Al Thornell of Blum, Joe Thornell and wife, Connie, of Magnolia, and Justin Thornell and wife, Gina, of Burleson; nieces and nephews; Brett and Kyle Thornell, Callan Thornell, Logan Potts, and Brody Thornell.
