Jay Hill of Whitney, passed away May 1, 2009 in Whitney. Jay was born on July 24, 1931 in Okra, Texas, the son of Claud S. and Nora Mae Falls Hill. He grew up in Sipe Springs and graduated high school there. Jay served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 and was Commander of the American Legion in Alvarado from 1991 - 1992. He had worked for General Motors for 30 years. In 1992, Jay married Virginia Lock and they lived in the Whitney area for several years, where he was a faithful member of Triangle Park Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Robert and Paul Hill; a daughter, Carla Jo Smith, and son, Lanny Hill. Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two children, Lisa K. Hill of Grandview, Branton C.Hill of Arlington; adopted daughter, Nita Redmon of Grandview; four step-children, Ginnie Roberts, Debie Taylor, Lee Roberts, John Roberts; two sisters, Martha Rhea Aiken, Claudia Buster; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchlildren Memorials: American Cancer Society 1700 Lake Success Dr. Waco, Texas 76710
