Jean Farquhar, 72, of Woodbury died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, near Covington. Jean was born July 31, 1935 in Woodbury, Texas, where she lived most of her life, the daughter of Milton Lee and Sarah Frances Brooks Denton. On November 22, 1952 she married George Farquhar. For over 10 years she owned and operated Jean's Beauty Den. The couple owned and operated George's Casual and Western Wear for 32 years until retiring and also farmed and ranched in the Woodbury community for many years. She was a very active member of the Woodbury Baptist Church and in the Woodbury community. She loved being with her family and enjoyed having them all together. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Wendell Denton; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Bearden Farquhar. Survivors include her husband, George Farquhar of Woodbury; two sons, Mike Farquhar and wife, Linda, of Hillsboro and Scott Farquhar and wife, Susan, of Cleburne; six grandchildren, Matt Farquhar of Whitney, Monte Farquhar and wife, Brandy, of Carrollton, Zach Farquhar and wife, Amy, of San Angelo, and Seth Farquhar, Nicholas Mandich, and Elizabeth Mandich all of Cleburne; two nephews and a niece, Steve Denton of Grandview, Cody Denton and wife, Amanda, of Joshua, and Angie Marino and husband, Louis, of Burleson; three great-nephews, Trey, Justin, and Maddox Marino.
