Jeanetta Ward

Jeanetta M. Granny Ward, 81 of Whitney passed away on March 14, 2011.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2001 at Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Bill Mayfield, Rev. Bobby Booth and Karry Don Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7 - 9 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jeanetta was born on October 4, 1929 in Whitney; the daughter of the late Jessie and Eunice Sherd Kissinger. On August 29, 1944, she married Homer Rellis Ward in Whitney. Jeanetta worked at the sewing room in Whitney for many years before joining her husband in Clifton to work for 12 years at Wilson Manufacturing and later in maintenance at Clifton ISD in environmental control for about 4 years. She later retired to babysitting, finally retiring in 1991. She loved to work in her yard. She was a member of Triangle Park Baptist Church in Whitney.

Her daughter Bonnie Earl Ward Shackelford also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Homer R. Ward of Whitney; sons, Rellis Merle Ward and wife Bev of Sugarland, Larry Don Ward and wife Jan of Whitney; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
