Jennings Hensley

Jennings was born to Lonzie and Gertha (Ward) Hensley on November 25, 1926 in Magoffin, Kentucky. He served his country in the United States Army with the rank of Private 1st Class from March 20, 1945 until December 16, 1946. Jennings was honorably discharged in December of 1946.

On February 24, 1951, Jennings and June Bailey were married in Greenup, Kentucky. He was employed by Chapman Construction in the High Line division for over 20 years. In 1989 Jennings retired.

Jennings enjoyed woodworking, especially bird houses and wishing wells, working and mowing lawns for others. He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Roxie Blair, Maybelline Francis and Ivy Hensley; one brother: Henry Ford Hensley; and one great-grandson: Wyatt Bailey Hensley.

Survivors include his wife, June Hensley of Whitney, TX; children: Diane Gore and husband, Al of Bozemon, Montana, Ronald Lewis Hensley of Whitney, TX, Gloria Hensley Perkins and husband, Michael of Whtiney, TX, Donna Kay Stewart and husband, Curtis of Canyon Lake, TX, Deana Marie Chilton of Clyde, TX; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

No service will be held.
