Biography

Jerry Lynn Foster, 73 of Hillsboro died July 10, 2011 at the Whitney Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at New Woodbury Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM prior to the service.

Jerry was born on September 7, 1937 in Dallas to Charles Maxwell Foster and Minnie Ola (Jennings) Foster. Growing up in Hillsboro, he played football for the Eagles before graduating in 1955. After high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years. He worked for Certainteed for 23 years, before concluding his career at the City of Hillsboro after 15 years of service.

A dedicated family man, Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also very attached to his dog, Poncho.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers Aubry, Warren, and Kenneth (Mickey) Foster.

Survivors include his wife Sue Harris Foster; three step-sons, Jim Mabry and wife, Connie, Ray Mabry and wife, Mary, and John Mabry; brothers, Charles Foster and wife, Joy, and his twin brother, Terry; sisters, Maxine Attebery, Elizabeth “Liffy” Cypert and husband, Charles; five grandchildren, Brandi Mabry, Brooke Kuykendall and husband Calvie, Chance Mabry, Dillon Mabry and Melissa Mabry; four great-grandchildren, Jay Burch, Jaiden Burch, Maddison Kuykendall and Mason Kuykendall; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Woodbury Cemetery Association; PO Box 1527; Hillsboro, TX 76645. Services are under the direction of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
