Jerry Hooker

Jerry Wayne Hooker, 75, of Bynum passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014, in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Officiating will be Rev. Edward Sumrall of the First Baptist Church of Bynum. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Viewing will be Tuesday November 25, 2014.

Jerry was born March 19, 1939 in Bynum to Leroy and Goldie (Foster) Hooker. He lived in Hill County all of his life, working for Mitchell Company for thirty years and then for Harbinson-Fischer until 2007. He married Nell Butcher on February 13, 1997. Jerry served as Mayor of Bynum for 18 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters; Mozelle Hackney and Bernice Bates.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Hooker of Bynum; brother, Leroy Hooker of Archer City; and sister, Doris Lewis of Arlington.
