Jerry William Manak

Jerry W. Manak, 83, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Baylor-Scott and White Medical Center of Waxahachie. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00am, Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Ennis, Texas, with Father John Dick officiating.

He was born January 12, 1940, to John and Theresa (Malish) Manak, in Bardwell, Texas.

Jerry worked for Watson Food Service for thirty-five years before owning and operating Original Lemon Wrap. Later, he bought K&K Meat Company on Corinth Street in Dallas, which he and his family operated for fifteen years. Jerry met and married Joann Vita in February 1961. They were married fifty-seven years before her passing in 2018. The Manaks lived in Dallas for many years and raised three children. He lived out his dream of building a house on his farm outside Ennis. He had several cows, horses and dogs, all of which he loved dearly. Jerry played fastpitch softball for many years for the SPJST of Dallas, where he was a member for over fifty years. He loved his family and enjoyed reunions, being outdoors with the family, cooking out and showing people his farm. Jerry was also a fourth degree Knight (Knights of Columbus).

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joann; three sisters and one brother, survivors include his children, Jerry Manak, Jr. and wife Robin, Sally Wendell, and Paul Manak and wife Meredith; his sister, Rose Mitchell; and his grandchildren, Rachel Manak, Remy Manak, and Roan Manak.
