Jess Oberly

Jess Allen Oberly, 70, of Whitney, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at his residence with his family by his side. Graveside services will be at noon, Friday, October 19, 2012, at the New Woodbury Cemetery in the Woodbury Community. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday, October 19, 2012, at the funeral home.

Jess Allen Oberly was born, June 26, 1942, in Toolesboro, Iowa, to late John and Mable (Foster) Oberly. He married Linda Jean (Allcon) Oberly on January 4, 1972, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He lived with his wife of 40 years in Euless, Texas until retiring to “Twin Cypress Ranch” in Whitney, Texas. Jess built their dream underground home on their ranch where they raised buffalo. Jess was a great man who was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Oberly; children, Kenny Parsons, Donna Wright, Chad Oberly, and Judd Oberly; grandchildren, Steven Wright and Kelsey Nisa; great-grandchild, Jaden Nisa; daughters-in-law, Melissa Oberly and Janell Oberly; brothers, Donald Oberly, Lloyd Oberly, and Marvin Oberly; sister, Mary Alice Honson; as well as many friends.
