Jess Underwood

Jess Underwood, 88, of Whitney passed away on February 23, 2007 in Whitney. He was theson of Sherman Andrew and Barbara Ann Barnhart Underwood. Jess grew up in southern Erath County. On Sept. 5, 1942 he married Mary Braziel and she preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 2006. Jess was a member of Towash Baptist Church and had worked as an automotive mechanic for many years. Also preceding him in death were his parents; 2 sisters, 2 half sisters, 1 brother and 2 half brothers. Survivors include his children, James Robert Underwood and wife, Frances Gayle of Iowa Park, Linda Dian Ward of Houston, Donald Ray Underwood of Corsicana; sister, Elizabeth Taylor of Whitney; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
