Jesse was born to George A. & Jewell Paine on May 28, 1925 in Gholson, Texas. His formative years were in the country close to his grandparents, and he loved hunting, fishing, riding, and swimming in the rivers and ponds He worked on the family farm and in the family store and did whatever was needed. He was in high school when WWII broke out and he enlisted as soon as he was 18 years old. After training in Aviation Radar, Radio, and Electronics, he was shipped to Guam. There, Colonel Paine proudly served with the 20th Air Force, Squadron 38 in the 19th Bombardment Group.

Jesse married Pauline Taite in 1948 and they had five children together. During that time he worked as a railroad telegrapher, motor grader operator, and TV sales. He worked for his father selling and servicing business machines. Later he bought that business from his father and remained in business for many years. He earned lucrative distributorships and sales awards in the Dallas area and state of Texas during his time working with business machines.

After his divorce, he moved to Whitney and built his retirement home, but he didn't retire. In Whitney, Jesse made a career change and began selling insurance plans for seniors. There Jesse met Elaine Popejoy and they married September 29, 1989. Elaine joined him in the insurance business, and they worked together quite a few years. He always stayed active at home with repairs on his mowers & tractors, building fences, home additions, well drilling, splitting wood, raising goats, rabbits, worms and fish, and gardening and endless projects.

Jesse and Elaine enjoyed their blended family and created a wonderful gathering each year right after Thanksgiving. They just celebrated their 25th anniversary in September of this year.
