Jessie Ward

Jessie Lee Johnson Ward passed away on April 4, 2005 in Whitney. She was the daughter of Clint and Minnie Lee Wagner Johnson. She married Harman Wallace Ward on May 8, 1948 in Dallas, TX and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1998. She had lived in the Dallas area most of her life working for Southwestern Bell in Fort Worth for 34 years; retiring in 1979. Jessie was the first woman manager for the company in McKinney and was also manager in Dallas, Lewisville and Fort Worth. She was a member of Fort Graham Baptist Church in Whitney; member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Lady Auxiliary American Legion #522. Survivors include her niece, Billie G. Bramblett and husband, John of Whitney; great niece: Rebecca G. Gray and husband James of Stephenville. Other survivors include a great niece; great nephew; great great niece and a great great nephew.
