Jim J. Carmichall, 77, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Carmichall was born February 27, 1930 in Blum, Texas son of the late Joseph Ernest and Anna Lee Coody Carmichall. He graduated from Blum High School and attended Hill College, University of North Texas, and Baylor University. In 1954 he married June Overton from Whitney. Jim served as Texas State Representative, newspaper editor, Hill County Commissioner, and a real estate broker. He participated in the National Emphysema Treatment Trial Study out of Houston and successfully completed the five year study. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro and the Downtown Bible Class. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Lee Carmichall; and two sisters, Mary Alice Carmichall and Charlene Jackson. Survivors include his wife, June Carmichall of Hillsboro; daughter, Jacquelene Jacque Morris, and husband, Ben, of Cleburne; granddaughter, Elizabeth Michele Morris of Denver, CO; grandson, Matthew Joseph Morris of Cleburne; brother, Bill Carmichall and wife, Barbara, of Blum; and a number of nieces and nephews.
