Jim L. Landrum, 74, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Jim was born December 28, 1930 in Houston the son of Roy and Lucille Elizabeth Ray Landrum. He was raised in Brownsboro, where he attended school and graduated high school. After high school, he moved to Dallas where he entered the U. S. Air Force. On May 17, 1958 he married Delores Phy in Irving. The couple lived in Irving until moving to Hillsboro in 1961. Jim enjoyed playing with his grandkids and cards with his friends. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon; and was leader of the Aquilla Creek Band. Jim played the banjo, guitar, harmonica, dobro, and bass fiddle. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Delores ?Lois? Landrum of Peoria; his children, Marlon Ruth and wife, Francie, of Hillsboro; Karen Marak and husband, Ronnie, of Abbott; and Dana Landrum and Paula Terry of Whitney; six grandchildren, Shannon Ruth and wife, Jamie, of Leroy, Brad Landrum of Whitney, Derek Landrum of Whitney, Daniel Marak of Abbott, Shanna Swinford of Whitney, and Chris Swinford and wife, Bobbie, of Whitney; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Landrum and Hayleigh Swinford.
