Jim Purdy

Jim Purdy, 56 of Whitney passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 while returning from Hawaii. He was the son of Aryland Melvin and Francis Margaret Tarr Purdy. He married Ruby Mae Looper on April 18. 1974 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the perfect family man; a loving husband, the greatest father and he valued his time with his grandchildren and will be deeply missed. He will be remembered as a hard working man since the age of 13 which included numerous years with David's Supermarket; his wry since of humor, and his love of Nascar and George Jones music. He was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Purdy. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Ruby; children, Steve Scarbro and wife, Starla of Durango, CO., Dianne Wilhelm and husband, Danny of Matton, WI., Susan Holliday and husband, Dennis of Whitney, Michael Henshaw and wife, Phrae of Honolulu, HA.; brothers, John Tarr of Austin, Dale Purdy of CA., Stephen Purdy of Springfield, MO., Phillip Purdy of Evergreen, CO.; grandchildren, Ricky Schlieve, James Paul, Douglas Wilhelm, Nathan Scarbro, Andrea Scarbro, Leilani Henshaw and four great grandchildren.
