Jimmie "Jim" Neff (75) was born on June 15, 1949, to Amos and Jessie Neff in Three Rivers, Texas. He passed from this life into the loving arms of his savior on November 16, 2024, in Waco, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of courage, love, and dedication.
Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1977, bravely fighting in the Vietnam War. During his service, he married the love of his life, Kay, in Texas City, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared many cherished moments. Jim was a loving father, doting on his girls and fulfilling their every whim (mostly). He was also a proud grandfather who constantly bragged about his grandsons' accomplishments every chance he got.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Jessie Neff, and his five sisters Barbara Teeter, Mary Reed, Nelda Tull, Wanda Prather, and Vona Beth Neff.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay, sister Joy Huebotter of Cleveland, Texas, daughter Marleyna Urbanovsky of Hillsboro, Texas, daughter Lucrecia Chandler and her husband Jacob of Huntsville, Texas, and grandsons Branden Urbanovsky and his wife Victoria of Abbott, Texas, Matthew Urbanovsky of Hillsboro, Texas, and Jackson Chandler of Huntsville, Texas.
The family will receive visitors at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Texas on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro, Texas Wednesday November 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
Jim is already missed, but he will forever be remembered by all who knew him for his strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and country.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating in Jim's name to Baylor Scott & White McClinton Cancer Center Memorial Fund, 150 Hillcrest Medical Blvd, Waco, TX 76712 who took such good care of him.
