Jimmy Davis, 70, of Whitney, passed away on April 20, 2017 in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2017, at King Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Slaten and Rev. Mike Kerzee officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the funeral home.

Jimmy was born on August 2, 1946, in Hillsboro, to James Sr and Hazel (Clymer) Davis. After graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1964, he attended Hill Junior College where he studied auto mechanics. On August 31, 1973, he married Shirley Kunkel. From 1982 - 2005, he worked for Konica-Minolta Corporation where he received numerous customer service awards from Konica-Minolta as well as an outstanding performance award for his district. Jimmy served his country in the National Guard and was a member of the King Memorial United Methodist Church in Whitney.

There was nothing that Jimmy could not fix, he was the go-to-man when help was needed in the Live Oak Resort Community at Lake Whitney. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing anything automotive and was a avid NASCAR fan.
However, one of his most loved activities was family vacations in Colorado.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Whitney; children, Christopher Robb Davis and fiancée Brandy Matus of Hillsboro and Staci Ann Davis Rogers and husband, Shane of Whitney; sister, Janice Ann Davis Barnes and husband Lingle Dudley of Arlington; two grandsons, Dax Riggins Rogers and Rux Davis Rogers of Whitney and granddaughter to be, Hollie Matus of Hillsboro.
