Jimmy Lee Huggins, 75, of Coolidge passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Lake Whitney Baptist Church in Laguna Park with Brother Kenneth Stevens officiating. Graveside services will follow at Noon on Wednesday, April 3, at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney. Mr. Huggins will lay in state for viewing from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Jimmy was born January 22, 1938 in Alligator, Mississippi, where he grew up, to Homer and Vadie (Barrentine) Huggins. During his early years, he worked with his father in a flower nursery. He later worked as a saw mill operator. On December 1, 2008, Jimmy married Loretta Eddleman of Whitney. He was a devoted Christian.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Faye Slayter and Sue Huggins; and brother, Thomas Huggins.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Huggins of Coolidge; son, Thomas Huggins of Axtell; step-children, Joy McNamara, Darrell Watkins, Malissa Long, and Cherie Rowland; brothers, Jim Huggins of Hillsboro, Bill Huggins of Pennsylvania, and Ronald Huggins of Comanche; grandchildren, Karla and Brianna Huggins, Jonathan McNamara, Shannon Huston, Caitlin McNamara, Brittany Berardi, Rachel Campbell, Stephanie Branscum, Allen Branscum, Zachary Branscum, Jacob Branscum, Kjersten Laster, Jimmy Watkins, David Watkins, Jason Watkins, and Anne Rowland; great-grandchildren, Harmoni Watkins, Lilianna McNamara, Jaeden McNamara, Asa Berardi, Heidi Berardi, and Scott Berardi.
