Jimmy, the fifth child of Finis and Betty Myers Moore, was born on February 25, 1955 in Hillsboro. He lived in Hillsboro his entire life where he attended Hillsboro High School. On August 3, 1974, he married the love of his life, Sylvia Jimenez and together they raised three children, Mandy, Jeremy and Peanut. In May 1983, he started his long time career at the City of Hillsboro as a troubleshooter for the water department, and over the years worked his way up to Director of Public Works. Jimmy made a lasting impression on everyone he ever met. He loved to joke around and pick fun with his employees but they knew he would give them the shirt off his back. Throughout his 34 years with the City of Hillsboro, he always felt that he built everlasting friendships.

Jimmy was an avid animal lover, from roosters to beagles to pigeons. He was even the president of Lone Star Spinners. After a few short years, he was able to qualify for the finals of the National Fly and the World Cup Fly, two of the most prestigious competitions. He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan and he liked to give Cowboys fans Hell. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports throughout the years. Rain or shine, near or far, he never missed a game. If you were ever at the field, you would surely see him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John C. Moore and Alice Moore Triplett (Mama Moore); maternal grandparents, Ted and Lillie Mae Myers; brother, Gary Moore; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Wanda Jimenez; and close friends, James Glenn, Salvador Noyola, Claude Woodard, Billy Wayne Warren and Billy Jack Thomas.

Jimmy is survived by his cherished wife, Sylvia Moore, of 42 years of Hillsboro; parents, Finis and Betty Moore of Hillsboro; three children, Mandy Rodriguez and husband, Sammy, of Midland, Jeremy Moore and wife, Melanie, of San Antonio and Larry Donahue “Peanut” of Whitney; brother, Billy Moore and wife, Pat, of Joshua; two sisters, Jeanie Goff and husband, Jerry, of Hillsboro and Betty Gilley of Hubbard; grandchildren, Brianna, Keely, Samantha, Gabrielle, Abry, Jeremy Jr., Mia, Shelby, Preston and Ashton; and great-grandchildren, Owen, Trea, Karson and an angel on the way.
