Jo Moon

Jo Moon, 83, of Whitney passed away at her residence on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Friday, April 19, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Chaplin Ralph McCulloh of Odyssey Hospice officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the graveside at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Jo was born on October 27, 1929 in Wichita Falls to James and Lucille (Bond) Monkress. She spent most of her life in Dallas before moving to Whitney in 2007. An avid animal lover, Jo had rescued and cared for many animals in her lifetime. She spent her life as a loving mother and homemaker to her children.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sons, Kenneth Lowell Hayman Jr. and James Michael Hayman.

Survivors include her two daughters, Nelda Alston of Rowlett and Marsha Rogers and husband, Richard, of Whitney; son, Timothy Hayman and wife, Brenda, of Forney; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildern.
