Jodie Ince, 61, of Whitney, passed away on October 26, 2012, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Prairie Valley Cemetery near Whitney with Reverend Johnny Pelham officiating. Mr. Ince will lie in state from 9 AM to 9 PM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Whitney, Texas.

Jodie was born in Whitney on March 27, 1951, to the late Theodore Edwin and Virginia Dell (Ivy) Ince. He lived in Whitney all of his life. He married Janice Brackenridge on July 28, 1980. Jodie worked as a transmission mechanic for several years. After 14 years he retired from Prairie Valley Presbyterian Camp. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jessie and Johnny Ince.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Ince; children Tim Ince of Oklahoma, Robert O’Brien of Arlington, Kevin O’Brien of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Michael Slavens of Titisville, Florida; brother-in-law, Sonny Brackenridge of Whitney; grandchildren, Aaron, Alyssa, and Amber Slavens, Tiffany Cook, Eric O’Brien, Phillip and Kristen Ince; great-grandchildren, Braydon Cook, Teal Slavens, Serenity Garbalena.
