Joe Abrego, 56, of Hillsboro died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Providence Hospital in Waco. Joe was born August 31, 1954 in Taft, TX the son of Consuelo Montes and Mauricio Abrego, Sr. Since 1966 he had been a resident of Hillsboro. On March 28, 1992 he married Macrina Huerta. He loved to sing, play the guitar, and he enjoyed fishing. Joe was one to always lend a helping hand. He was a fork lift operator for Clayton Distribution. He was of the Apostolic faith. Preceding him in death was his father. Survivors include his wife, Macrina Abrego of Hillsboro; mother, Consuelo Abrego of Hillsboro; seven children, Victoria Abrego, Melissa Abrego and husband, Juan Carlos, Joe Ann Abrego and husband, Raul, Jesus Miguel Fernandez, and Sonia Flores and husband, Antonio, all of Arlington; and Issac Abrego and Joe Abrego, Jr. both of Hillsboro; four brothers and one sister, Mauricio Abrego and wife Rebeca, Manuel Abrego and wife, Sally, and Robert Abrego and wife, Josephine all of Hillsboro; Aurora Escalante and husband, Juan, of San Angelo; and Juan Abrego and wife, Celine, of Whitney; 12 grandchildren, Tony, Candy, Abel, Alec, Oscar, Priscella, Carlos, Joe, Arianna, Justin, Amy, Arielle; and many nieces and nephews.
