Joe Balderas

Joe (Pino) Eufemio Balderas, 75, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle of Hillsboro passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro.  Funeral Services will take place at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, Texas.  Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, Texas.

Joe was born on May 26, 1946, in Hillsboro, Texas, to Dorson and Ygnacia Aquilera Balderas.  Joe was one of nine siblings: Manuel Balderas, Sylvia Balderas, Marcella Balderas Gonzalez, Cirilo Balderas, Joseph Robert Balderas, Lupe Balderas Handy, Lucio Balderas and Joel Balderas.

Joe is survived by three children, Joe Juan Balderas (Suzanne), Helena Balderas Hernandez (Manuel) and Angel Balderas (Diana); eleven grandchildren, Alyssia Rose, Isabella Esperanza and Marissa Helena Hernandez, Anthony T. Balderas, Angel, Alex and Austin Privado and Ruby Torres, Eric and Tori Lindley and Brittney Burton; four great grandchildren, Kyler Lindley, Trenton Moore, Lleyton Burton, and Jackson Joe Juan Hill.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Dorson and Ygnacia Balderas, and brother, Cirilo Balderas.

Joe attended school in Hillsboro. At the age of sixteen, he followed in his dad’s footsteps and became a mechanic.  He worked at Brockett’s Garage and later at Dobb’s & Co. in Hillsboro, until he retired.  He was a talented mechanic who could tell you what the problem was just by ear.  He enjoyed fishing, music, hanging out with family and enjoyed time with his grandchildren and kids.  He was someone that was always there when you needed him.  He may be gone but we will never forget his contagious smile, laughter, and fun-loving personality. He was a man of minimal words but showed his love through his smile, eyes, and actions.  He will be greatly missed.
